IMPORTANT BOYS' PLAYING INFORMATION FOR 2026

PLAYING GRADES
While the Gold Coast District Rugby Union offers U6 to U15 and the U17 grades., our club has teams for the following playing grades.

Boys playing grades
Non-competition:
-
U9 - born 2017 or 2018
-
U11 - born 2015 or 2016

Competition:
-
U13 - born 2013 or 2014
-
U15 - born 2011 or 2012
-
U17 - born 2009 or 2010

Players are permitted to play up one playing grade without dispensation however the Club will only allow this to happen once player safety has been assessed as well as other considerations.

Dispensation requests
While Rugby Australia offers the Size for Age dispensation policy, our Club does not allow dispensation to be sought or granted to play up two age grades or down an age grade under certain circumstances. This is because the Size for Age dispensation process and awarding of a dispensation status is too cumbersome, sets the wrong expectation with families, is too controversial and too time consuming on our volunteers.

Girls-only playing grades
Girls are combined with boys in the U6 to U12 Boys playing grade.
