IMPORTANT MEN'S INFORMATION FOR 2024

PLAYING GRADES

Our club has teams for the following playing grades:

  • U20 - born 2004, 2005 or 2006

  • 1st / 2nd grade senior rugby

Our club does not offer women's rugby.

FEES & PAYMENTS

Fees

Registration fees are collected by Rugby Australia then distributed. Registration fees consist of four levies from Queensland Rugby Union, Gold Coast Rugby Union, Rugby Australia/Insurance and our Club. The Club's levy is used to fund a range of expenses including:

  • Club house maintenance

  • Power, water and rates, leases

  • Functions

  • Uniforms

U20 - $289

  • QRU - $55.00

  • GCDRU - $0.00

  • Rugby Australia/Insurance - $90.00

  • Our Club - $144.00

1st / 2nd Grade - $340 

  • QRU - $62.00

  • GCDRU - $100.65

Our Club supports credit/debit card payment and ZipPay. Note: A 2% charge is added when completing a credit card payment.

Installments

The Club supports ZipPay. Flexible installment options are available through ZipPay and the ability to apply for a ZipPay account is presented during the payment process.

Weekly 'pay and play' option

We offer a weekly registration option. A weekly registration is valid for one calendar week which usually incorporates one match only.

REGISTRATION

Registration is open. Registrations are completed using the Rugby Xplorer system. Rugby Xplorer is available online and through an app (iPhone and Android). Registration payments are made by credit/debit card or ZipPay.

REFUNDS

Our Club will offer a full refund under the following circumstance:

  • The team you register for is non-viable (i.e. does not have enough players to form a viable team prior to season start)

  • If you sustain a season-ending injury prior to the first scheduled competition game

WEEKLY COMPETITION

Pre-season matches

Pre-season matches are arranged by team coaches if deemed necessary.

Season

All senior grades complete for a championship with a finals series at the end of the season. All matches are played on a Saturday afternoon.

Our U20 team competes in the Colts Tuckey Cup. The Tuckey Cup is a Thursday night competition managed by the Queensland Rugby Union as is open to premier clubs (e.g. Sunnybank, Norths, Souths, Easts, Wests, Brothers, GPS, Bond, UQ) as well as suburban clubs (e.g. Wynnum, Caboolture). 

Our 1st and 2nd grade teams compete in the GCDRU competition.

Season duration

The U20 competition begins Thursday 4 April1st/2nd grade competition begin Saturday 6 April . Competition will conclude in late August with semi-finals and a Grand Final held in early September.

TRAINING

U20

Our U20 trains with our U18 team as a Colts squad

  • First training session - Tuesday, 30 January

  • Regular training sessions (pre-season) - Tuesday 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

  • Regular training sessions (in-season) - Tuesday 5:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

1st/2nd grade

​1st and 2nd grade teams train together as an extended squad:

  • First training session - Tuesday, 16 January

  • Regular training sessions - Tuesday & Thursday - 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

EQUIPMENT

Once registered, players receive and keep:

  • Match socks

  • Match shorts

  • Training singlet

  • Club polo short

Once registered, players are loaned:

  • Match jersey - returned to the club at the end of the season

Players provide:

  • Boots

  • Any other protective clothing they choose to wear (e.g. mouth guard, head gear)
